Dr. Bertwin Langenecker
Inventor (Deceased)
In 1959 Dr. Langenecker earned his PhD in Physics, Mathematics, and Astrophysics from the University of Vienna, Austria. He was recruited by U.S. Navy to head their Physics Research Division at the US Navy Ordinance Test Station (NOTS) in China Lake, California, a position he held from 1960-1967. The primary thrust of his research there dealt with ultrasonic effects, for which he coined the term "Macrosound".
In 1968 Dr. Langenecker returned to Austria where he founded Physikalische Versuchsanstalt in Waldbach, Austria. While consulting with various Austrian firms, he applied his knowledge of ultrasound effects to address problems created by industrial wastes and their adverse impact on the environment.
Dr. Langenecker returned to California in 1997 to continue his development of Macrosound technology. He was granted numerous U.S. patents for methodologies and mechanisms for the treatment of contaminated materials. In 1999, he patented a process for producing enhanced solid fertilizer from livestock waste and harvest leftovers. Dr. Langenecker developed a patented process for the eradication of parasites, which was tested and validated by UC Riverside. He then designed a technology for the elimination of microorganisms and viruses in liquids and sludge. This was successfully tested on-site at the Business Park of the City of Ridgecrest, California, in a demonstration for the treatment of wastewater, resulting in a dramatic reduction (to the point of non-detectable) of fecal coli form and virus's wastewater and sewage sludge.
At the time of his death in November 2007, Dr. Langenecker was working on a process to modify his technology to address desalinating brackish water and seawater to produce potable drinking water.
It was Dr. Langenecker's desire to transform the sophisticated weaponry technology that he developed into technology to benefit humanity and the environment. He made significant progress toward that goal before his untimely death, and now the management team of Globe Protect continues the work to make sure that Dr. Langenecker's "from swords to plowshares" dream is realized as his legacy.
