Benjamin Roberts

Chief Technical Officer

Dr. Roberts has 30 years experience in research, product development, product applications, teaching, and engineering consulting. He holds 15 patents in turbulent mixing processes, chemical blending and dispensing, waste treatment, and water treatment. He has consulted with local, state and federal governments, private developers, and corporations on environmental and water related projects. Dr. Roberts spent ten years as Director of Technology for BOC Edwards, a semiconductor equipment company. During that time, he managed the R&D function, managed two laboratories, and oversaw the development of products used in semiconductor fabs to manage and dispense chemicals and treat liquid waste streams. Prior to his time with BOC Edwards, Dr. Roberts co-founded Ocean Genetics, a marine biotechnology company, served as president of On Site Technologies, as hazardous waste consulting and remediation company, and was lead engineer for Aqua Design, a desalination equipment and services provider. He has taught courses at Stanford University as an adjunct professor.

Dr. Roberts received an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and M.S., Eng., and Ph.D. from Stanford University in water resources, hydraulics, and fluid mechanics. He is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in the state of California.
